School-Age Language & Learning
Speech, language, and academic communication support for ages 8–18.
Therapy for school-age clients, elementary through high school, focused on the language skills that show up in daily life. Keeping up in class. Expressing complex ideas. Navigating friend groups. Building the academic language that opens doors.
What it is
School-age speech and language therapy spans articulation and speech-sound work, expressive and receptive language, academic language for school success, and pragmatic / social communication. I work with students ages 8 through 18.
Who this is for
- Students working on articulation or speech-sound clarity
- Kids and teens building expressive or receptive language
- Students whose academic performance is held back by language gaps
- Families looking for support that complements school-based services
How I approach this work
If your student already receives speech services at school, I'm happy to align with the goals on their existing IEP. We extend and reinforce the work without duplicating it. If they don't have school-based services or want something different, I can evaluate and treat independently. Either way, the focus is on speech, language, or pragmatic needs as they show up in your student's daily life.
What sessions look like
Sessions adapt to your student's age, attention, and goals. We use materials that fit their world: academic content, conversations, the topics they actually care about. The goal is engagement that keeps the work transferable.
- Personalized plan from session one
- Practice strategies for daily life
- Caregiver / family coaching as needed
- Honest progress check-ins
